Tomorrow, April 18, is National Transgender HIV Testing Day (NTHTD), a day to acknowledge the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on transgender communities in the U.S. On this day, we highlight the importance of HIV testing and access to prevention and care services, expanding supportive services, and reducing stigma.
HIV testing is crucial –it’s the first step to accessing prevention services and treatment. On this day we invite the transgender communities and all the communities at large to get tested for HIV by visiting a testing center near you (https://locator.hiv.gov/) or doing it at home by ordering a free HIV self-test (https://together.takemehome.org/).
