To celebrate Latinx Heritage Month and Latinx HIV Awareness Day, we have organized a day where community members can update their sexual health status via HIV and STI/STD screenings, meet local artists, have free food, and have access to other resources from the organizations that will be tabling.
National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD) is October 15th. While new diagnoses of HIV have decreased in other populations, that is not the case in Latinx communities. There are many barriers that keep Latinx from accessing HIV education, prevention, testing, and treatment including fear, stigma, homophobia, and language.
