Dia Nacional de la Concientización del VIH/SIDA – San Diego, CA
October 14, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
SYHC participates in this national event each year to help promote the importance of HIV testing and education in the primarily Latino South Bay area of San Diego. On October 14, 2016, we will host a local health fair with community partners. We start with intensive outreach and education for the community so that we can help Latinos in our area understand risk levels associated with HIV and learn how to protect themselves. Then, we offer FREE HIV tests to anyone who would like one. Any time we find someone who is HIV+, we have a program to help them access medical care, as well as, case management, support groups and counseling. With San Ysidro Health Center’s support, people newly diagnosed with HIV can connect to care, start HIV treatment, stay in care and keep the virus under control.
