National Latinx AIDs Awareness Day is October 15th—a reminder of the importance of HIV education, prevention, testing, and treatment that centers the needs of Latinx communities. According to AIDsVu, Hispanic/Latinx people account for 27% of new HIV diagnoses annually, but only 17% of new pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) users. Closing this gap in medication access is critical to ensuring all people at risk of HIV can prevent infection, while also addressing the systemic issues that contribute to HIV vulnerability in Latinx populations.
Join us on October 15th for our National Latinx AIDs Awareness Day event to learn more about our free HIV testing services, treatment options, and Whittier’s work to end health disparities in the Latinx community.
