DESCRIPTION:La Fiesta del Barrio is a fun\, health-centered\, cultural block party that brings our community together. We haven’t been able to have it since 2019\, and this year it’s especially significant as we celebrate our 40 years with the community that has made that possible. It truly is about bringing greater visibility to the strength and beauty of our Latinx communities while raising critical funds that not only help the patients we take care of but the whole community. The event will take place between 11am and 4pm. \nThe Fiesta will have zones focused on inclusion\, community\, and family! As attendees will be able to engage in an overall celebration of Mind (good emotional and mental health)\, Body (good physical health including exercise and food choices)\, and Spirit (community\, togetherness\, and inclusivity). There will be specific areas to celebrate children and seniors and activities for all ages\, including “lotería” and intergenerational games\, storytelling\, healthy food demonstrations\, 20+ exhibitors/Latinx & Local artisans\, Pride Gallery\, interactive community art\, exhibits on Latino culture\, and health screenings. A main stage will include performances that reflect the diversity of the Latinx community\, along with fun activities and appearances by special guests.

DESCRIPTION:Since its conception\, VIDA\, a non-profit organization focusing on LGBTQ+ Latinx folks\, providing education\, open dialogue\, and strong\nrole models in the fight against HIV among other amazing community activities. VIDA has been providing Self Collect HIV Tests to\nthe community and then linking them to appropriate Prevention or Treatment services with various organizations (e.g.\, UCSD\, SYH\,\nVCC\, TrueCare\, MCAP\, La Maestra and AHF\, The Center\, etc.).\nSince its formation almost ten years ago\, VIDA has worked hard to provide HIV education to help reduce and hopefully eliminate HIV\namong Latinx communities. VIDA does this in many ways\, including informational booths at events all over San Diego including Latinx\nPride\, National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day\, and Out at the Fair. VIDA’s team of staff and volunteers provide services after traditional\nwork hours including evenings and weekends at different sites where the need is greatest in the County of San Diego and now\nexpanding to Orange County and Inland Empire.\nWe would like to ask you to join us in celebrating our 10-year anniversary while we commemorate National Latinx HIV/AIDS\nAwareness Day and National Hispanic Heritage month on Sunday\, October 15th. The event will focus on non-traditional and sometimes\nuncomfortable conversations about sex\, health\, and identity amongst four queer brown men. DESCRIPTION:NLAAD will be celebrated at HIV Prevention and we will be offering Free HIV testing and provide incentives to those who test on\nOctober 16th (Monday after the official date of NLAAD). In addition\, NLAAD will be celebrated throughout October by participating in\ncommunity member events such as the Borderland’s Rainbow Center’s monthly brunch where we will be providing free HIV testing and\ndistribute condoms. As part of National Coming Out day\, we will collaborate with Mountain Star Pride to provide free testing as well\nduring their “Outfest” event. We will be talking about the significance of NLAAD as part of our monthly sex workshop where we will\nencourage others to get tested and the power of knowing your HIV status.
