SUMMARY:National Latino AIDS Awareness Day 2020 - San Diego\, CA
DESCRIPTION:National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day is on Thursday\, October 15\, 2020. VIDA in collaboration with Latino Commission of AIDS\, NLAAD\, and AHF Clinic & Pharmacy Hillcrest San Diego along with some of San Diego leaders and community organizations to provide healthcare\, education\, and prevention methods information on AIDS/HIV/PrEP/PEP/STD\, promote HIV testing\, and the benefits of HIV treatment.  Please join us at Urban Mo’s 308 University Ave\, San Diego\, CA 92103 between the hours of 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. \nLatinxs are the largest minority group in the United States and disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS. In 2013\, Latinxs comprised 17% of the U.S. population or 54 million people\, yet represented 23% of the HIV/AIDS cases that same year.  In 2013\, there were an estimated 5\,773 cases of AIDS diagnosed among Hispanics/Latinxs in the United States. Since the beginning of the epidemic\, approximately 125\,051 Latinxs have died from AIDS.
