DESCRIPTION:Today is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD)! 🎗️ This year’s theme: “Should I get tested for HIV? Yes!” Join us in promoting HIV awareness and prevention in Latinx communities. \n📊 HIV disparities persist for Hispanic/Latinx communities: \n• In 2023\, there were 39\,182 new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. Hispanic/Latinx people accounted for 32% of new HIV diagnoses\, despite making up only ~19% of the U.S. population.\n• In 2023\, Hispanic/Latinx people represented 31% of new HIV diagnoses but only 18% of PrEP users. \nWe must address these inequities to #EndTheEpidemic. Expanding access to testing\, treatment\, and PrEP through culturally competent strategies is crucial. Together\, we can work to increase HIV awareness\, dispel HIV stigma\, and end the epidemic! \n#NLAAD #HealthEquity #HIVPrevention
