This year&#8217;s NLAAD theme, &#8220;Be a Superhero. Defeat HIV,&#8221; highlights the important role of both individuals and communities &#8211; a team of superheroes &#8211; in defeating HIV.<\/p>\n<p>In honor of this important day, we&#8217;re proud to feature a blog post from AIDSVu Advisory Committee member Guillermo Chac\u00f3n, President of the Latino Commission on AIDS and Founder of the Hispanic Health Network.<\/p>\n<p>Despite representing 17% of the population, Hispanics\/Latinx accounted for 24% of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. in 2015.
