DESCRIPTION:¡Únase a nosotros en este evento de la prueba del VIH. El evento contará con promotores quienes trabajarán promoviendo la concientización y conocimiento del VIH. Voluntarios harán alcance comunitario\, proveyendo materiales educativos y animando al público a hacerse la prueba. La prueba es gratis\, rápida y sin dolor. La única manera de saber si tiene o no el VIH es haciéndose la prueba. \nEste evento es parte de una campaña mayor en la cual se proveerá la prueba del VIH en 3 diferentes días y lugares\, los cuales cuentan con población hispana muy considerable. Todos los eventos proveerán la prueba del VIH. Estos eventos son coordinados por HHS/OASH en colaboración con Multicultural Aids Coalition\, Casa Iris; East Boston Neighborhood Health Center\, Project Shine y ABCD Boston\, ABCD Hispanic Center. Los coordinadores de Take The Test Boston son: Irvienne Goldson\, Jennease Hyatt y Raquel Calderon.

Síganos en #NLAAD. \nLos Hispanos/Latinos en los Estados Unidos se encuentran desproporcionadamente afectados por el VIH/SIDA. Representan el 17% de la población de los Estados Unidos i aún representaron casi 1 de cada 4 (24%) infecciones entre adultos y adolescentes en 2014. Factores como la falta de seguro médico\, las barreras con el idioma\, la falta de familiaridad con el sistema de salud en los Estados Unidos y el estigma frecuentemente limitan el acceso a servicios para el cuidado de la salud\, limitando\, como consecuencia\, las oportunidades para tomar la prueba de detección del VIH y tratamiento para el VIH/SIDA.iii iv Debido a que los Hispano/Latinos son el grupo minoritario de más rápido crecimiento en los Estados Unidos\, el buscar soluciones a esta situación es muy importante para la salud pública de toda la nación.
