DESCRIPTION:El Día Nacional Latino para la Concientización del SIDA (NLAAD en Ingles)\, se conmemora cada año durante el último día del Mes de la Herencia Hispana\, y significa un día de movilización comunitaria para enfrentar la epidemia del VIH/SIDA. NLAAD promueve un esfuerzo de colaboración entre grupos escolares\, comunidades de fe\, hospitales\, organizaciones comunitarias\, departamentos de salud\, entre otros\, para hacer un alcance directo a las comunidades con las que interactúan de forma regular. El tema de este año “Con Ganas” es una llamada a la acción que promueve en la creciente comunidad Latina/Hispana de los Estados Unidos y sus territorios un mayor conocimiento del impacto desproporcionado que el VIH\, el SIDA y otras disparidades de salud tienen en las comunidades\, al comprometerse a hablar sobre los factores de riesgo. \nNLAAD es una campaña iniciada y lanzada por la Comisión Latina sobre el SIDA desde el 2003. Los eventos son organizados por nuestros socios locales anualmente el 15 de octubre en más de 200 ciudades y 45 estados a través del país y sus territorios. NLAAD fue establecido para actuar como catalizador de movilización comunitaria que ayudara a prevenir la propagación de la infección por VIH\, promover oportunidades para hacerse la prueba de detección del VIH\, conectar a miembros de la comunidad con cuidado médico\, y para llevar a cabo actividades que promuevan la concientización sobre el VIH/SIDA y otras condiciones de salud que tienen un impacto en la comunidad Latina/Hispana.
